Hill & Knowlton

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport

Hill & Knowlton Australia was appointed by Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to help promote the new Qantas service between Australia and Dallas/Fort Worth as well as the opportunities the service provides for growing trade and tourism between Texas, NSW and Queensland.

Once appointed, Hill & Knowlton established itself as DFW Airport's representatives in Australia and worked closely with Qantas, Government agencies and tourism and trade bodies in both the US and Australia in order to generate positive media coverage around the launch of the service in May 2011. We also provided ongoing public relations activities to ensure business and leisure traveller knowledge and interest in the new Qantas service.

In addition, Hill & Knowlton hosted two senior trade and tourism delegations from Texas to Australia which included events and briefings with the Minister for Transport, Anthony Albanese, the Minister for Tourism, Martin Ferguson, the Queensland Premier, Anna Bligh, the NSW Deputy Premier, Andrew Stoner, the US Ambassador to Australia, Jeff Bleich, the US Consul to Australia, Niels Marquardt, the CEO of Qantas, Alan Joyce and the CEO of Sydney Airport, Kerrie Mather.

Commenting in the media on the new route recently, Qantas CEO Alan Joyce said "We're very happy with the performance.... the yields and financials are performing a lot better than our business case."
